Oh smeg- one of the designers at TT Games, the studio behind the Lego series, has teased UK fans with the possibility of a Red Dwarf entry in Lego Dimensions.
Joe Moore tweeted a picture of Lister’s quarters recreated in Lego, alongside a pun of which we approve heartily:
“Smoke me a kipper, I’ll be back for brick-fast”.
Could it be that Red Dwarf is making an appearance? Doctor Who has joined the fray, so why not another British sci-fi staple?
A screenshot on Reddit indicates that rather than a full outing, players can expect the room to be added as a secret area in the upcoming Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Themexpansion for the game. This would make more sense: Red Dwarf isn’t exactly a perfect brand match with Lego, not least because one of its most iconic phrases is actually short for smegma.
American audiences would also probably be left fairly bewildered. The pilot that was to launch Red Dwarf in the US back in 1992 was a hot mess.Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is due to hit Lego Dimensions tomorrow on November 18, where players will be able to visit the little known universe of a book series called “Harry Potter“, whatever that is.
