Payday: The Heist, the first game in Overkill Software’s co-op, heist-themed shooter series, will be free for 24 hours later this week, as part of three-year anniversary celebrations.
In the lead up to the series third anniversary on October 18, Overkill have been holding a reward campaign in the Payday 2 Steam group. Tiered rewards in the form of free in-game weapons, masks, and heists have been unlocking as group numbers grew; yesterday it reached 1,500,000 members, unlocking the final tier of rewards: in-development content that will remain secret until it is released.
Among the rewards is a free copy of Payday: The Heist, which normally costs US$14.99 (NZ$19.13) on Steam. It will be free for 24 hours, starting at 6 am on Friday, October 17 (NZST), with instructions on how to obtain it to be posted in the Payday 2 Steam group on the day.
